OverviewWhat it is

Webnet is Jakob’s stainless steel wire-rope mesh. Ropes are joined at every crossing, either with swaged sleeves or woven through each other without sleeves, forming a diamond mesh with a standard 60° angle. It can be tensioned flat, curved or into 3D forms, and it stays nearly invisible from a distance.

It is the mesh behind our zoo enclosures, aviaries, helipad nets, bridge and balcony railings, security fences and green façades. Diamonds can run horizontally or vertically; vertical meshes are harder to climb. A Duplex version resists corrosion even better on the coast.

QuestionsFrequently asked

How strong is Webnet?

Strength depends on the rope and mesh. A Ø2 mm rope has a minimum breaking load of 2.4 kN, and a Ø3 mm rope 4.6 kN. We engineer the mesh, edge ropes and fixings together for each project.

Can Webnet be coloured?

Yes. Webnet is supplied in stainless, black or any RAL colour. Our embassy project in Delhi uses black Webnet with black ropes and fittings.

What mesh size do I need?

It depends on what the mesh must stop: a child, a bird or a falling object. Use the planner above to see the largest opening for each size, or ask us.

How is Webnet installed?

The net is centred in its frame or edge ropes, tied at the corners and all round with cable ties, then laced with a Ø1 to 2 mm stainless rope through every edge mesh. The lacing sleeve is swaged and the ties are removed. Switch the planner to Installation to watch it.
