Stairwell, void and atrium nets
Webnet across stairwells, voids and atriums: it stops falls and dropped objects, and you still see through it.
Acier projectOverviewWhat it is
Open stairwells, voids and atriums are where people and things fall. A stainless Webnet net across the void, or around the stair, stops them without closing the space: from a few metres away the mesh almost disappears and the light stays.
We lace the net to a rope framework or a frame fixed to the structure. At Third Space, Udaipur, three spiral stair towers are netted in Webnet Ø2 mm / W 60 mm on a rope framework. For temporary protection during construction and fit-out, Jakob’s polypropylene and polyester nets do the job.

QuestionsFrequently asked
Is Webnet approved as a safety net?
Webnet has German general building approval DIBt Z-14.7-557. We design each installation to the load.
Will the net close in the space?
No. Webnet is a fine stainless rope mesh; from a few metres away it almost disappears, so the void, the view and the light stay open.
Stainless mesh or a textile net?
Stainless Webnet for permanent nets: it does not burn, rot or fade. Jakob’s polypropylene and polyester nets for temporary protection and indoor cover.
